FAQ
How do I know which class I will need?
Most people working in a daycare, doing foster care, working in construction trades, as a licensed massage therapist, or similar professions, nornally need to take the American Heart Association's "Heartsaver CPR and First Aid" class.
For healthcare workers, such as those employed in a doctor's office, they need the Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association's certification class.
Can I take CPR online?
American Heart Association offers some online classes, but in order to get a card, you still need to find a qualified instructor to do the practical (test the hands-on portion and submit the various completion forms). At JJs CPR certification, we are only certified in American Heart Association classes and can only provide testing and sign-offs for these courses. We charge a fee of $40 for this service. If taking the online class works better for your schedule and you would like to arrange for the in-person testing, email us at jody.matson@gmail.com. *Note: You must file, save, and print out (or email jody.matson@gmail.com) your American Heart Association's completion certificate prior to meeting for the hands-on portion.
There are a lot of inexpensive online classes, can I simply take one of those?
Buyer beware.....there are a lot of knock-off classes online & some may even be pretty good. However, we have seen many people come to us over the years saying, "I have to take this class all over again because my employer says they can only honor an American Heart or Red Cross CPR class." This is because American Heart meets OSHA requirements.
Are there discounts for multiple students?
This may be possible depending on how many students and if the instructor will be needing to travel to your place of business. Contact Jody at jody.matson@gmail.com to work out details.
